Nicotine pouch strengths explained
From low to extra strong, what the milligram numbers mean and who each band suits.
Nicotine pouches are sold by strength, shown in milligrams of nicotine per pouch. The number is a guide to how much of a hit you will get, not an exact science, because how a pouch feels also depends on the brand and format.
| Band | Rough range | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Low | Up to 6mg | New users, lighter cravings |
| Medium | 6mg to 9mg | Balanced, all-day use |
| Strong | 9mg to 12mg | Regular and heavier switchers |
| Extra strong | 12mg and above | Experienced users only |
If you are unsure, start a step lower than you think you need and move up. It is easy to go stronger later, but a pouch that is too strong can feel harsh. Format matters too: a Mini in 6mg often feels gentler than a slim 6mg because it holds less.
